Know your audience: how local media engage with their public

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

These days, thanks to digital technologies and social media there are many more ways to communicate and engage with our audiences than for instance just a decade ago. And not only for that, as by virtue of being local those media have in all respects a much closer relationship with their public. In this session, we will hear about how different local and regional media are now engaging with their audiences: from asking your readers what topics to investigate, to collaborating with your audience to crowdsource local data, to running a media school for members of the public (who then may become contributors to your media outlet), to organising events and workshops.
