Digital security: File encryption

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Hands-on workshop: Learn how to easily and effectively encrypt files on your computer or an external drive. Encrypting files is a dependable way of protecting sensitive data without creating barriers to effectively work on it. File encryption protects against data breaches in the case of device theft. Encrypting files also makes it less risky to use cloud services to transfer large amounts of sensitive data. We will work with the open-source, cross-platform tool VeraCrypt. Participants should bring a usb stick to practice on during the workshop.
