Tracking European weapons to conflict zones

European weapons are used in conflicts, civil wars and human rights violations. Which are the routes they take, and how does this trade circumvent international law? Many journalists research weapon exports and find that war material from their countries ends up in warring zones. Some work with satellite images, others with video material, data in spreadsheets or tips from informants. A group got together on the #EUArms project at last year's Dataharvest conference and share their experiences together with new tools from Neue Zürcher Zeitung.
